Biking 

We take biking seriously.

Since 2017, when the LA County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a San Gabriel Valley Regional Greenway Network Implementation Plan (authored by Supervisors Hilda Solis and Kathryn Barger), cities have been transforming unused space into a network of biking and walking paths. The goal is to open 40 miles of existing paths as greenway routes by 2025, plus 100 potential routes. In the end, this could connect 130 schools to safe walking and biking paths.

In 2018, the cities of Glendora and South Pasadena opened up greenways along the San Dimas Wash and Arroyo Seco. Thanks to federal funding, more are on the way. 

Nonprofits including Active SGV, Day One, and Bike SGV are working hard to reshape the landscape of our cities and give residents options for healthy living.
