The challenge of keeping the sport of Thoroughbred horse racing relevant in the most competitive of entertainment markets is daunting, but Santa Anita Park is answering the call.
Pete Siberell, Director of Community Services and Special Projects for Santa Anita Park, will give some background into the ownership and corporate structure of the racetrack and explain the various ways Santa Anita is competing for the sports and entertainment dollar in the Southern California market.
For a record 10th time, Santa Anita Park will host the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in November. Siberell will discuss this event and its tremendous economic impact in the San Gabriel Valley.
Finally, a new barns project is in front of the City of Arcadia; Siberell will explain why this project is vital to Santa Anita’s future as a premier horse racing training and racing facility.
In honor of Lunar New Year, we encourage everyone to wear something red to the meeting -- a scarf, a tie, a pocket square. We will take a group picture and raffle off some tasty Asian treats.
